German police investigate anti-foreigner motive in Bavaria fire

Two neighboring houses in Wallerstein caught fire on Wednesday evening, with the blaze injuring 12 people. Police arrested a 22-year-old man who was present at the location when fire broke out. The suspect has denied all accusations of arson. Residents called rescue services after fire broke out in the cellars of the two buildings. 2 houses hosting refugees burnt down in Bavaria

The two houses, which neighbor each other, caught fire almost simultaneously at about 20:45 local time. The data protection office of Baden-Württemberg has announced that a joint examination of 21 companies conducted by Berlin, Hamburg, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg has found that online dating portals often fail to meet data protection requirements. However, the data protection office, did not find any severe shortcomings which would justify a prohibition order against the companies in question. Bavaria minister says refugees with false passports may have ISIS link

BERLIN - A senior Bavarian politician said on Tuesday that refugees with forged Syrian passports have disappeared in Germany and there are grounds for suspicion that they may have had contact with Islamic State militants, German media reported.  The minister spoke after top-selling daily Bild reported that about a dozen refugees were in Germany with false passports originating from the same place as those held by two Islamist militants involved in attacks in Paris on Nov. 13 which killed 130 people.
