Germany hit by record-setting heat, severe thunderstorms

The DWD German weather service reported on Sunday that it had recorded a temperature of 40.3 degrees Celsius (104.5 degrees Fahrenheit) in the Bavarian town of Kitzingen. Drownings spike as heatwave hits Germany

As Germany swelters in temperatures near 40degC, at least 12 people have drowned in swimming accidents across the country. Redningsskøyta Elias har berget en Bavaria på rundt 40 fot, som ble funnet ved Kongshavn på Nordre Jeløy onsdag kveld.
