NEW BAVARIA — Victor William Cohrs, 76, of New Bavaria, died Thursday morning, July 23, 2015, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

His Legacy… He was born the son of Carl and Hilda (Seeman) Cohrs on November 1, 1938, in Deshler. In 1956, he graduated from Deshler High School. On October 1, 1960, he married Janet Behnfeldt in St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. He was a carpenter by trade, working for himself and McDonald’s Construction. He also worked as a Henry County assistant engineer. Vic’s passions were woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and hiking.

His Family… Victor is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; children, James Victor Cohrs, Napoleon, Terry (Jean) Cohrs, Napoleon and Lori (Rob) Olds, Continental; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and siblings, Carl (Donna) Cohrs, Deshler, Lois (Carlin) Badenhop, Wauseon and Eldor (Dale) Cohrs, Perrysburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell Service… Friends will be received Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate. He will lie in state on Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the church. The celebration of Victor’s life will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
