Two Tarlach readings scheduled

Former Journal Sentinel pop music critic Gemma Tarlach will read from her dark fantasy novel, “Plaguewalker,” at two local sites this week.

Set in 14th-century Bavaria, “Plaguewalker” features a giant executioner, Marcus, whom some townspeople believe has otherworldly powers.

Tarlach will give a 7 p.m. reading Oct. 26 at Boswell Book Company, 2559 N. Downer Ave. She will join author Paul McComas (“Unforgettable: Harrowing Futures, Horrors, (Dark) Humor”) for a “Halloweekend” doubleheader at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave.
