Turtle ‘attack’ on boy in Bavaria prompts local hunt

A lake in the southern German town of Irsee has been drained, as part of the efforts to try and catch a turtle suspected of attacking a boy over the weekend.

Zoologists in Munich believe it to be an ‘alligator snapping turtle’, a species native of North America which was released into the lake by its owner.

Tom Santorelli reports.
