Traditional German Pilgrims Mark Jesus’ Ascension

Approximately 2,000 pilgrims from 40 different folk group associations attended an outdoor mass in traditional Bavarian costumes at the open-air altar near Fischbachau, Germany, on Thursday. The annual event held in Bavaria, a predominantly Catholic state, celebrates Jesus Christ’s ascension to heaven.
