Thousands gather for anti-G7 march in Munich, Germany

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Munich on Thursday to present their demands to the leaders of the G7 who are due to meet this weekend in the Bavarian town of Elmau. According to protest organizers, the total number of people in attendance stood at over 35,000. Protesters carried posters and banners decrying environmental damage, corporatism and the downsides of globalization.
