The consortium of Technopark-based start-up companies Technopark Business Incubation Group (TBIG) has signed an MoU with Bavaria Business Centre (BBC), Nuremberg, to open up an office space for TBIG companies for networking in Europe.
The MoU was signed at the recently-concluded IT Event – CeBIT-2013, at Hannover, Germany, in the presence of IT Principal Secretary P H Kurian and Technopark CEO K G Girish Babu. As per the agreement, the start-ups operating from all the TBIs in Kerala can take a space in BBC, Nuremberg.
The MoU ensures visa and legal support for the company representatives and German entity registration with 100 per cent ownership. Selected companies will have initial funding option up to Rs seven lakh.
The first batch of the company representatives of TBIG will be flying to Germany in April to open marketing offices. The MoU is part of the Nuremberg Fuerth of Excellence Support Programme for Foreign Investors funded by Free State of Bavaria.
The cities of Nuremberg and Fuerth also get the help and cooperation of the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support Indian companies setting up operations in Bavaria.
Kerala government sponsored five start-ups from TBIG to showcase their products and services at CeBIT-2013.
IT Minister P K Kunhalikuty said the objective of the government was to give them opportunity and exposure of the global international market and the first step towards this was a success. The Government would ensure that more start-ups get the opportunity to participate in future IT expositions in India and abroad.
P H Kurian said that during the CeBIT event, more than 100 business leads across the world were touched upon and, ‘’we hope to realise 10 deals in two months. Deals with prospective resellers and local consultants were made and various co-incubation opportunities for TBIG companies are also expected.’’
Girish Babu said that many companies from Germany and other places, ‘’have expressed willingness to expand operations to Kerala and would be visiting our facilities soon. The visit helped the start-ups to gain exposure to the global technology and business scenarios.’’
