It’s hard to comprehend enjoying a brew on a sun-soaked patio in this weather, but during the summer, Killmeyer’s Old Bavaria Inn’s outdoor patio is the place to be.
Serious beer drinkers need to pay a visit to this casual German restaurant. It offers a festive beer garden replete with evening weekend entertainment.
Find craft selections that work well with liverwurst sandwiches and pickled herring, lunch item scores.
Dinner sees platters with assorted wursts plus a tender sauerbraten. On the way out, however, please do not feed the 8-foot Hummel at the door. Open daily for lunch and dinner.

The tiki bar opens at noon daily. Park yourself seaside with selections from the special outdoor menu — several entrées along with lighter fare, like burgers, sandwiches and salads. After Memorial Day, the Marina plans entertainment for the space Thursday through Sunday. There’s nothing like a sunny day at the marina with a frosty drink in hand.
2nd runner up: South Fin Bar — 300 Father Capodanno Blvd., South Beach; 718-447-7679; SouthFinGrill.com — with 571 votes.
Sit alongside the boardwalk or on the “Blue Deck” near the restaurant’s entrance with an outdoor tiki bar. Starting Saturday, entertainment will be featured each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with various deejays or local bands leading the party. Wednesday is salsa night. Oh, and the food: Enjoy raw seafood or sushi. Salads are nicely composed and refreshing. Open daily for lunch and dinner (and colorful cocktails) with a Sunday brunch buffet.
3rd runner up: Angelina’s Ristorante — 399 Ellis St., Tottenville; 718-227-2900; AngelinasRistorante.com with 836 votes
Depending on your definition of “upscale,” this Italian restaurant dresses up an evening with little entertainment surprises and always an exciting brand of flamboyance. It’s not a night club, but a fine dining spot located waterside at the mouth of Staten Island’s busiest shipping channel.
