Sporting director Bruno Hubner has confirmed that the 23-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, is bound for Bavaria
Eintracht Frankfurt have announced that midfielder Sebastian Rode will join Bayern Munich at the end of the season on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been repeatedly linked with the Bavarians since rising to prominence during the 2012-13 Bundesliga season.
Indeed, Rode turned down the chance to sign a new deal with Frankfurt last year and sporting director Bruno Hubner confirmed to Sky Sport HD on Thursday that the player had agreed to move to the Allianz Arena when his current contract with the club expires in the summer.
Frankfurt CEO Heribert Bruchhagen confirmed that the club had been aware of the former Germany Under-21 international’s decision for some time.
“I knew nine months ago,” he told Franfkurter Rundschau.
Rode, who has yet to register a single goal or assist in the league this season, becomes the second player to agree a free transfer to Bayern since the turn of the year, with Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski having penned a five-year contract with the reigning European champions last week.
