Beer is the drink of summer. On a patio, on a beach, at a concert, or out in the fields at a music festival: beer goes hand-in-hand with the music.
Bavaria brewing company have put the two together, with a new beer and radio station.
Bavaria’s 8.6 Red is the beer with a bold red hue. It’s also a bit of a tough guy, weighing in at 7.9% strong. It has a malty flavour, some light caramel notes, and a smooth finish.
Bavaria 8.6 Red is re-launching on shelves in Canada with new red packaging, inspired by street art. Check out the video below, with graffiti by Jeaze Oner. In true DIY and street spirit, the entire video was home-edited and directed by Fabien Perez. Created to reveal 8.6 Red’s new packaging, the video makes a series of objects come alive and, once touched by a flow of red colour, become major symbols of protest and revolution.
Also worth a listen is 8.6 Rock Radio, the internet radio station by Bavaria. After listening for an hour, I heard everything from The National, Radiohead, Sonic Youth and Kasabian to The Eagles. (I even got a flashback to 2002 with a track by The Datsuns – remember them? I’ll confess, I had the t-shirt.) Listen online at: www.86rockradio.com.
8.6 Rock Radio is also available to listen to on your mobile , via Google and iPhone apps.
Red – the colour of love, war, revolution, and maybe, one of your new favourite beers. Please drink responsibly.
