The Solvang Chamber of Commerce in 2014 will offer domestic and international travel tours — “America’s Music Cities” and “Discover Switzerland, Austria and Bavaria” — which are open to members and nonmembers.
Free informational presentations on the trips are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Wednesday, Feb. 5. However, interested parties are encouraged to submit deposits for either or both trips now, as spaces are expected to sell out.
Organized by Linda Johansen, former chamber president and a travel professional, in conjunction with Colette Vacations, the trips are designed to be fun, memorable and educational experiences.
Both trips include round-trip flights from Los Angeles, air taxes and fees/surcharges, four-star hotels and hotel taxes, hotel transfers, round-trip ground transportation to and from Solvang to Los Angeles International Airport, most meals and daily tours.
The eight-day “America’s Music Cities” trip will take travelers through New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville from May 18 to May 25 and includes 10 meals.
An “America’s Music Cities” tour presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the Bethania Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 603 Atterdag Road.
The discounted early booking rate for double occupancy is $2,399 per person, plus a $175 per person prepaid cancellation waiver and insurance fee. Travelers need to pay the $175 cancellation waiver/insurance fee plus a trip deposit of $250 per person, to hold their trip reservations. The space reservation fees can be paid at the Nov. 5 orientation or earlier.
The special early booking rate expires Nov. 18. Only 25 seats are available for the orientation and repeat clients have already reserved seats. Reservations are required for the presentation.
The “Discover Switzerland, Austria and Bavaria” trip from Sept. 3 to Sept. 12, 2014 will span 10 days with 12 included meals and features four-night stays in two cities: Bern, Switzerland and Innsbruck, Austria.

The European trip’s special early booking rate will expire March 3. Only 44 seats are available for the orientation and repeat clients have already reserved seats. Reservations are required for the presentation.
