Czech prime minister is also planning a business trip to China at end of year
Prague, April 7 (ČTK) — Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka (Social Democrats, ČSSD) is considering a visit to Turkey this autumn and will also fly to China, he said in an interview with the Czech News Agency today.
Sobotka said he will also go to Saxony and Bavaria, adding that his foreign trips will focus on Czech economic priorities.
“The Turkish market has been growing very dynamically in the past few years. A number of opportunities for Czech exports are opening there,” Sobotka said.
He said he will take a delegation of businesspeople to Turkey, just as on the subsequent visit to China where he will probably go in October or November.
“My visit to China will be connected with a meeting of the heads of government of Central and East Europe in the 16-plus-one format,” Sobotka said.
The latest similar summit was held in Serbia last year. China will host this type of meeting for the first time.
During his stay in China, Sobotka will also meet his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang. He said the precise date of the visit will depend on China’s timetable for the summit.
“This year I also want to pay attention to intensively furthering neighboring relations,” Sobotka said
In the past few months, he welcomed the prime ministers of Saxony and Bavaria, and he will now reciprocate their visits.
“I will visit Dresden and Munich with the aim of continuing the intensive dialogue between the Czech Republic on the one side and Bavaria and Saxony on the other,” Sobotka said.
