Philipp Lahm Reveals That Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Sorely Missed at Oktoberfest

If Bayern Munich are missing Bastian Schweinsteiger’s influence on the pitch, it’s hard to tell based on the Bavarian giants’ scintillating form.

Captain Philipp Lahm has revealed one place where the German’s impact is sorely missed: Oktoberfest.

It’s the time of year when Bavaria’s biggest celebration goes off, and the Bayern Munich squad made their annual trip to the festival Wednesday.

Lahm told Sport1 (h/t Simeon Gholam of the Daily Mail) that being at the Bavarian celebration is where Schweinsteiger’s absence is really setting in.

It’s when you go to Oktoberfest that you really notice that he’s no longer here.

He was always very well dressed, as you’d expect from someone who grew up in Bavaria. I’ve certainly missed him, but in all honesty he wasn’t really a beer drinker.
