MUNICH, Germany, June 10 (Xinhua) — Two bus accidents occurred in Upper Bavaria over the weekend, killing one and injuring more than 70 students from Denmark and Poland.

A double decker bus carrying 55 Danish students ran into a railway bridge in Munich on Sunday, injuring 40 people. A 17-year-old girl underwent serious head and spine injuries, the Munich fire department said.

The students, between the ages of 16 to 19, were hospitalized and went back to hotel later.

The driver of the double decker bus apparently overlooked a sign saying the bridge had only a height of 3.4 meters, which is well below the height of the bus and it leads to the tragedy.

Meanwhile, another accident occurred on the Highway A9 near Ingolstadt on Saturday, killing one and injuring dozens.

A bus carrying 45 Polish students overturned on the way to France near Bavarian city of Ingolstadt, killing a 37-year-old woman aboard.

Two girls, 13-year-old and 16-year-old, were so severely injured that they had to be flied to hospital immediately. About 35 students sustained moderate or minor injury.
