One killed in crash

DEFIANCE — One individual was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Defiance Sunday.

The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported Micayla Fitzsimmons, 22, of Defiance was eastbound on Steinmaier Road at approximately 1 p.m. when she failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle driven Johnny Burdine Jr., 49, of New Bavaria, who was northbound on Harris Road. Both vehicles traveled off the northeast side of the intersection, with Fitzsimmons’ vehicle coming to rest on its top and Burdine’s vehicle coming to rest on its side.
