Oktoberfest: It’s all about the beer and bratwurst

Oktoberfest is a huge festival in Bavaria, revolving around frothing steins of beer, hearty cuisine, music and dancing. It would be so fun to go, but you’d need vacation time, at least a couple of flights, and a wallet full o’ Euros. Or you could just head to The Wharf.

The Wharf Restaurant and Bar is ground zero when it comes to Oktoberfest. Every year this beautiful venue by the sea transforms itself into a haven of Bavarian delicacies, sure to entice lovers of great food and imported beer.

The menu covers all manner of unpronounceable dishes, from Bavarian weisswurst sausage with sweet mustard and Laugen pretzel to baked cheese spaetzle topped with fried onions.

Of course it wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without huge pretzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut, Wiener schnitzel and warm apple strudel. You’ll be so full that you’ll definitely need to wash it all down with something – but what to have?

Well, you could go the usual route and have one of The Wharf’s fabulous cocktails, but that would be just foolish when there’s ice cold Spaten Munchen brew to be enjoyed! That’s right; The Wharf is bringing in authentic Bavarian beer for Oktoberfest so you can truly immerse yourself in the whole experience.

Once you’ve indulged in food and beer aplenty, you might want to work off the abundance of calories. Luckily the DJ for the night will have traditional Oktoberfest music to which you can jiggle, no doubt interspersed with some modern hits. Maybe Clemens Guettler himself will don his lederhosen and show us all how it’s done.

Honestly, if you’ve missed the Oktoberfest festival at The Wharf in the past, you’ve missed out on a great time. Thankfully there’s one this year, so crisis averted!

It has become a very popular event, so make sure you get there early to snag a good table, and bring your appetite. It’s Oktoberfest at The Wharf, so come along and celebrate!
