The Oktoberfest is a 16-to-18 day beer festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, usually from late September to the first weekend in October.

A major event in Germany and one of the world’s largest fairs, the festival draws more than 6 million people from around the world every year.

The Oktoberfest can be traced back to October 1810 when King Ludwig I married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hindburghausen. Munich residents were invited to celebrate the royal event.
