Neuer is one of six Bayern players shortlisted for Fifa’s top individual accolade, which is held by Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.
“I’m honoured that I am the only keeper nominated and we all hope that someone in Bavaria wins the award,” Neuer told Audi Star Talk.
Bayern, who were guided to a historic treble by Jupp Heynckes last term, have continued to shine under new coach Pep Guardiola. Neuer added of their progress under the Spaniard: “We always want to have the ball.
“He (Guardiola) wants us to be the boss on the pitch, and we’ve done the job quite well so far,” concluded the former Schalke man.
The Bavarians next face Hoffenheim on Saturday.
