Michelin today awarded a third star
to Ueberfahrt Christian Juergens, a restaurant on the shores of
the Tegernsee lake in Bavaria, in its dining guide for Germany.
The award brings the number of three-star restaurants in
Germany to 11, ranking the country second only to France in
Europe in the number of restaurants with three stars.
Michelin Cie., Europe’s largest tiremaker, produced its
first guide in August 1900, intended for chauffeurs. The guide
contained practical information, including street maps and tips
on using and repairing tires.
