NEW BAVARIA — Michael D. Ordway, 62, died Friday evening, December 26, 2014, at his home after a short battle with cancer.
His Legacy… He was born October 24, 1952, to Chester and Dorothy (Eitzman) Ordway in Napoleon. Mike graduated from Holgate High School in 1972. On December 9, 1972, he married Pamela Jones. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, and he retired from GM Powertrain in Defiance after 42 years. Mike was an avid Holgate Tigers and Detroit Tigers fan.
His Family… He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Pamela; daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Hilvers, Ottoville, and Andrea (Chris) Burgel, New Bavaria; four grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, Brodi and Dru; brothers, Frank (Jo) Ordway of Holgate, Bob Ordway of Littleton, Colo., and Doug (Teri) Ordway, Holgate; and sister-in-law Mary Ordway, Holgate. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ted Ordway; and a sister-in-law, Becky Ordway.
His Farewell Services… Friends and family will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William St., Holgate, on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. The Rosary will be on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
