Manchester United wanted Thomas Muller ‘at all costs’ this summer, according to a super agent.
Giovanni Branchini says the Premier League leaders were willing to shell out whatever it took to bring the German star to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old remained in Bavaria but Italian Branchini, amid rumours of a £71m bid, said it was not for a lack of trying on United’s part.

In a QA with calciomercato.com, he was asked to unveil a secret.
‘Manchester United wanted Thomas Muller at all costs,’ Branchini responded, before adding: ‘I’ve spent days trying to explain Bayern Munich would never let him leave – so in the end they changed their mind.’
Branchini added that the bumper new Premier League TV deals have transformed the transfer market, meaning mid-table English clubs now have the financial muscle of Italian giants.
