Summer is coming and unearthed is determined to help you enjoy these all-important months even if the weather doesn’t live up to the hype! So dust off those BBQs, or turn on the grill, and try unearthed’s new range of sizzling sausages.
The unearthed team has recently returned from another food discovery trip to Bavaria and are excited to introduce two new continental flavours to the alfresco range – Bavarian Bratwurst and Bavarian Currywurst. These authentic sausages join the existing range of Chistorra, Smoked Cooking Chorizo and Bavarian Frankfurters.
New Bavarian Bratwurst (RRP £3.29 each or two for £5, 240g) – Let’s face it, the Germans know how to do sausages and the people of Bavaria are some of the best. This traditionally cooked pork sausage is subtly seasoned with herbs and spices, including fenugreek and loveage, as well as tangy fruit flavours, such as orange peel and lemon extract. It tastes terrific as part of a BBQ spread with a classic potato salad. Grill or fry for 7-8 minutes, turning constantly.
New Bavarian Currywurst (RRP £3.29 each or two for £5, 200g) – The ever popular German snack is finally here! Simply cook the sausages, spread with the sauce and sprinkle with the curry powder for a delicious curried twist to the usual barbecue flavours. Enjoy with a pitcher of beer and a bun for a Bavarian take on a British summer. Grill or fry for 7-8 minutes, turning constantly, then empty the curry sauce over the sausages and sprinkle with the curry powder, for a real kick.
Existing Range:
Chistorra (RRP £3.29 each or two for £5, 215g) – A Chorizo lovers dream, this spicy Spanish pork sausage, seasoned with smoked paprika and garlic, is cleverly wound into a ring to stop it falling through the gaps in your BBQ. Grill for 7-8 minutes and BBQ for a further 4 minutes, turning during cooking.
Smoked Cooking Chorizo (RRP £3.29 each or two for £5, 200g) – This barbecue product is a spicy Spanish cured pork sausage, seasoned with paprika and smoked over oak wood for a rich flavour. Try with grilled peppers and ciabatta. Grill for 8-10 minutes, turning while cooking, and it’s ready to eat. To get that smoky flavour, BBQ for a further 5 minutes.
Bavarian Frankfurters (RRP £3.29 each or two for £5, 200g) – This versatile pork sausage is subtly seasoned with herbs and spices, including ginger, coriander, nutmeg and cardamom. Terrific served in a floury bap with sautéed onions, finished off with a dollop of a favourite summer sauce. Grill for 4-6 minutes, boil for 4 minutes or fry for 3 minutes, turning frequently.
