Samuel L Jackson and Onni Tommila in a scene from Big Game

Samuel L Jackson is seen stranded on a snowy mountaintop in Bavaria in the first photo to be released from his new film Big Game.

The Django Unchained actor, who stars as the US President, has been shooting Jalmari Helander’s action-adventure in Bavaria, with Onni Tommila as his 13-year-old sidekick Oskari.

Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman has joined the cast to play the CIA Director, while Victor Garber is to portray the US Vice President and Ted Levine has been cast as General Underwood.

Jim Broadbent, Ray Stevenson and German actor Mehmet Kurtulus will also have supporting roles.

The adrenaline-fuelled thriller, which was written by Jalmari, is nearing the end of its eight-week shoot on locations across Bavaria and Bavaria Film Studios.

It sees the American leader, as played by Samuel, joining forces with the teenager after his plane Air Force One is shot down by terrorists, leaving him stranded in the wilderness. The duo make an unlikely team as they collaborate to escape their ‘hunters’ for the unforgettable 24 hours of their lives.

Director-writer Jalmari said: “Big Game is an action adventure story on an epic scale. I’m delighted to be taking this genre on as it has always been very close to my heart, as action-packed adventure stories contain the elements that I believe make movies that are worth watching.”
