Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The International Insurance Company is expanding ties with financial institutions of Germany.

IIC finance advisor to chairman of board Anar Zulfuqarov says that participation of Company’s representatives in the manager refresher training program (MTP), implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan in the name of the Baku Business Training Centre, the Ministry of Economics Technology of Germany, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Academy of the Chamber of Commerce of Munich and Upper Bavaria, allowed to start the process of expanding relations with the financial sector of Germany.

“Individual visits to German companies allowed holding talks with top management of Commerzbank, BayernLB, Deutsche Bank and DZ Bank. We plan to conclude with some of these banks before the end of 2013 an agreement on bilateral cooperation in several areas,” Zulfugarov said.

Also, talks with companies Allianz, Munich Re and Hannover Re were conducted.

“The IIC has been actively cooperating with some of them, and these negotiations will enable to agree on expanding cooperation. Partner relations will be established with other German reinsurers,” Zulfugarov emphasized.

The ICC has strategic plans on development of its activity at international markets.

“In this regard, participation in MTP was useful, as it also allowed establishing relations with the Department for Financial Institutions under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology of Bavaria. Access to the database and support of the Ministry can be productive in terms of creating additional business opportunities with German colleagues,” said Zulfugarov who represented the ICC in this program.

Within this program he passed a training course organized by the Academy of the Chamber of Commerce of Munich and Upper Bavaria.

“In addition to advanced knowledge and skills in business planning, management and marketing, the training course concerned the specifics of cooperation with the German business,” Zulfugarov said.

This program was held in Germany from 21 April to 18 May.

Zulfugarov underlined that the whole program was organized at the highest level, thanks to the professionalism of the organizers in the face of the Baku Business Training Centre of the Ministry of Economic Development, GIZ and the Academy of the Chamber of Commerce of Munich and Upper Bavaria.

During the visit he also participated in the investment fair conference in Stuttgart, where he held meetings with representatives of the world’s largest financial community, such as ING Bank, Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, HSBC, UBS, Unicredit, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Commerzbank, Raiffeisen Bank, Citi Group, UBS and many others.
