FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (WOTV) There’s a town in Michigan where Christmas and family traditions are celebrated all year long. Frankenmuth is home to Bavarian Inn and Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland.
Bavarian Inn
The Bavarian Inn was founded by Dorothy Zehnder who, at the age of 93, still works six days a week in the kitchen. Multiple generations of the Zehnder family still work there with her. The Bavarian Inn includes 12 European-themed dining rooms, which can seat 1,200 people at one time. The restaurant is known for its family-style chicken dinners which include their famous chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked dressing, buttered noodles, soup, salad, and homemade ice cream.
Also inside the Bavarian Inn you can find a bakery with pies and pastries, a gift shop, wine and beer shop, and candy shop with homemade chocolates.
The Bavarian Inn Lodge is a 360 room hotel, water park, and conference center. It is made for families with a game room, four swimming pools, and indoor mini golf course.
