Innovative” car run to Bavarian Ingolstadt starts in Moscow

The “Moscow-
Minsk-Berlin-Munich-Ingolstadt” car run under the motto “Youth for
Innovative Future” will start in the Russian capital on Sunday. The
action will be held as part of the Days of Moscow in Bavaria festival
on May 12-19, 2013.

Official celebrations of the Days of
Moscow in Bavaria, in which Russian and German officials will take
part, will be held in the German cities of Munich, Nuremberg and
Ingolstadt in the federal land of Bavaria on May 15-17, the Moscow
department for foreign economic relations said.

Moscow youth activists, participants in
the car run, will go on a tour of European cities, which are in the
vanguard of technological progress in various spheres of contemporary
society. The car run is designed to develop international youth ties
in the field of innovative technologies and social policy and work
with young scientists and inventors.

The young people will have to cover
6,500 kilometers. They will set off on M-1 highway. Local activists
will join the Muscovites near Smolensk. Then the route will run via
the territory of Belarus through major economic and industrial centers
such as Minsk, Borisov and the biggest free economic zone of Brest.

After crossing the Belarusian-Polish
border, the car convoy will head for Berlin via Warsaw past modern
sport facilities erected specially for the 2012 European Football
Championship.

In Berlin, the participants in the car
run will attend the “iico” Internet – Congress, the biggest in Europe,
which annually attracts representatives of Internet marketing, IT
and corporate communications.

Furthermore, the participants in the
program will head for the city of Munich, in southern Germany, where
the young people will get acquainted with the latest achievements in
IT technologies.

The next stop will be Ingolstadt, a home
to the Audi AG car-making company. A roundtable meeting on problems
of innovation will be held jointly with local youth and members of
the Ingolstadt scientific community.

Last, year, a similar Moscow-Paris car
run was devoted to the 1812 Patriotic War against Napoleon. The route
ran on the Old Smolenskaya Highway.
