Hungary to Consider Legal Fight Against EU Quotas, Lazar Says

The Hungarian prime minister said refugees are a “threat” to Europe ahead of an important European Union meeting on the crisis.

Hollande told Mr Orban that if he did not like it, his country should leave the EU: “States that don’t respect European values should ask if they belong within the EU,” he said.

Lazar said that if Hungary’s measures are not accepted by the European Union then new ways must be found, and Slovenia and Austria have both used the corridor solution to handle mass migration.

I don’t doubt Germany’s right to define its moral obligations for itself”.

Hungarian Jews were the largest single group among the 1.1 million people killed in the extermination camp at Auschwitz. They can decide if they accept every refugee or not…

“We should win Greece over to defer the defence of its external borders to countries that are willing to defend those external Greek borders from a law enforcement point of view”, Orban said, adding that Hungary would be prepared to take part in such a mission. The numbers from the day before broke the record from September 14, just before Hungary effectively closed down its border with Serbia.

“We should be strongly confronting Orban, we can’t fawn over him”, said Green party leader in the Bundestag (German parliament) Anton Hofreiter, himself a native of Bavaria.

Orban added that he would also press fellow EU leaders to agree on a common list of safe countries of origin to which migrants can be returned, and to pitch in one percent of their EU income and their EU contributions to an emergency fund.

The European Commission drafted a proposal which would distribute some 120,000 migrants throughout EU member countries according to their capacity and based on the countries’ population density, GDP and employment figures.

The 30-year-old said he came across the couple by chance early one morning as families of asylum seekers and single men were waking up.

The Jordanian and Lebanese newspapers were filled with glaring statements on Monday by the Hungarian government warning immigrants who try to enter the country illegally.

Despite the present tension between the two sides, the Hungarian government on Thursday said Orban as well as several other senior ministers are to visit Vienna on Friday to discuss the migrant crisis.

CSU leader Horst Seehofer drew widespread criticism for inviting Orban, with senior Social Democrat lawmaker Yasmin Fahimi saying the Bavarian premier had stabbed Merkel in the back.
