Flood-affected areas returning to normal.

Most flood-damaged areas of Germany are again ready to welcome tourists.

Weeks of constant and heavy rainfall brought floods and high tides to many areas of Germany.

Infrastructure and tourist facilities in Bavaria, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt have been given the all-clear after experiencing the heaviest rainfall and volunteer repairs.

Water levels in most of northern Germany have receded, while some flood warnings remain due to breached levees.

However, in Brandenburg the pressure on the levees in Prignitz remains high, with increasing attention being given to the area by relief units and local volunteers.

The Deutsche Bahn rail service remains affected, while other modes of transport such as roads and boat tours need to be checked prior to departure.
