Germany Says No Concrete Evidence of Terror Threat in Munich

BERLIN – German authorities in Bavaria announced on Monday that there is no concrete evidence of the imminent risk of a jihadist attack in the German state on the feast of the Epiphany (Three Kings Day) to be celebrated on Jan. 6.

The German authorities in Bavaria were on alert for a terror attack on New Year’s Eve.

Joachim Herrmann, the minister of the interior of Bavaria, told the morning TV show ZDF that there is no definite evidence of a terror threat on the feast of the Epiphany.

He explained that there are only vague hints about the Epiphany, which is a public holiday in the state of Bavaria.

However, Herrmann noted that there is still a “concrete” terror threat and all security agencies are, therefore, on alert.
