Bavaria Cruiser 51 and Windy 39 Camira to debut this week

Design Unlimited, the leading exterior styling and interior design studio, will be celebrating the latest results of partnerships with two of Europe’s best known manufacturers at this year’s Boot Düsseldorf. Both the Bavaria Cruiser 51 and the Windy 39 Camira will be officially launched to the marine press at the start of the show and are expected to receive widespread attention.

Bavaria’s Cruiser 51 is the sixth yacht to be introduced in the new Cruiser range, with both exterior styling and interior design by DU. In common with her sisters, the 51 features panoramic windows, a large bathing platform, and a light, airy feel below deck.  The close DU collaboration with Bavaria’s in house team has helped generate a wide range of interior details aimed at delivering maximum storage, convenient and spacious living, easy maintenance and seaworthy function. The result is a sizeable sailing yacht that is ideal for comfortable cruising with family, or alternatively configured for up to ten guests.

Meanwhile, in Hall 5 on Stand E20 Windy Boats of Norway will be showing the first of their new Windy 39 Camira model, with its DU interior. This high performance sports model is now the largest open sports boat in the Windy range. With two cabins, a head with separate shower and a galley it is ideal for week-end cruising.
The brief for Design Unlimited was to create a classy yet timeless look that maximised the sense of space while emphasising the depth of Windy quality. “It’s light and bright, with a punchy style,” says Design Unlimited’s Mark Tucker. “The overall look is modern, combined with soft curvature and light, natural-toned, timber bulkheads in a satin finish.”  In recent years Design Unlimited has also worked with Windy Boats on the interiors for their 33 Scirocco, 37 Grand Mistral and Zephyros 58, the flagship of the Windy range.

“Overall, we take great pleasure in designing craft that will be used and enjoyed by the wider boating public,” said Design Unlimited’s Mark Tucker, “and we bring with us many years of our own family sailing and cruising experience. Developing long-term relationships with leading boat builders like Bavaria and Windy helps us build a deeper understanding of their clients’ expectations and requirements, and the result is, we hope, models that delight both new and long-standing customers.
