German World Cup killer arrested in Norway

The German citizen was on the run after being wanted for the murder of an elderly man and the attempted murder of a 17-year-old girl in Germany. Both incidents took place just hours before Germany won the World Cup and on the open streets of Bad Reichenhall in Bavaria.

The man, who is in his twenties, was arrested in Åstfjorden in South-Trøndelag by Norwegian police. He was arrested at 5.35pm on the 714 county road at Åstfjorden, police said to NTB.
