ABENSBERG, Germany, Sept. 9 (UPI) — A waiter at a German festival set a beer-carrying world record by picking up 27 glasses of brew and carrying them a distance of 131 feet.
Oliver Struempfel lifted the 27 glasses, which each contained just over 2 pints of beer, by stacking them in a two-tier system and he carried them a distance of 131 feet at the Gillemoos festival in Abensberg, Bavaria, to best the competition and take the world record.
Struempfel, who works at the festival, said he trained for months to build his strength and determine the best way to carry the maximum number of beers.
