German state cancels plan to publish reprint of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf

The state of Bavaria owns all rights to Hitler’s estate due to the fact that at the time of his death his official place of residence was in Munich, Bavaria’s capital.

Mr Spaenle made clear in a statement on a government website that Bavaria would continue to take legal action against anyone who attempts to publish excerpts of the book.

Charlotte Knobloch, a former leader of the Central Council of Jews in Germany has welcomed the decision.

“Hitler’s sorry effort is full of hatred and contempt for humanity,” she said.
