Felicity Huffman has joined the cast of Samuel L. Jackson starrer “Big Game,” which is being repped at next month’s AFM by Altitude Film Sales. The first image has been released from the set of the pic, which is shooting on location in Bavaria, Germany.

Huffman (“Transamerica,” “Desperate Housewives”) plays the director of the CIA in Jalmari Helander’s action adventure.  As previously announced, Jackson stars as the U.S. President, playing alongside Onni Tommila as his 13-year-old sidekick Oskari.

Additional cast members have also been announced, including Victor Garber (“Titanic,” “Argo”) as the U.S. Vice President, and Ted Levine (“The Silence of the Lambs,” “American Gangster”) as General Underwood.

Previously announced cast include British thesps Jim Broadbent (“Iris,” “The Iron Lady”) and Ray Stevenson (“Thor,” “GI Joe: Retaliation”), and German actor Mehmet Kurtulus (“Short Sharp Shock”).

The pic, which is written and helmed by Jalmari Helander (“Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale”), is nearing the end of its eight-week shoot on locations across Bavaria and at Bavaria Film Studios.

Pic kicks off with the shooting down by terrorists of Air Force One, leaving the U.S. President stranded in the wilderness. He teams up with Oskari to find his way to safety with the terrorists closing in on them.

The director of photography is Mika Orasmaa (“Rare Exports,” “Iron Sky”) and Scanline (“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” “Iron Man”) is on board for the special effects.

The pic is a Finnish-German-U.K. co-production, with Petri Jokiranta producing under the Subzero banner, alongside Will Clarke and Andy Mayson for Altitude Film Entertainment. Jens Meurer of Egoli Tossell Film is the German producer. Alex Garland (“28 Days Later,” “Dredd”) is executive producer.

Financiers include Finnish Film Foundation, YLE, Nordisk Film TV Fond, Visionplus Fund, Bavarian Film Partners, Bavarian Film and Television Fund (FFFBayern), German Federal Film Fund (DFFF), Comerica Bank Entertainment Group and KfW Bankengruppe.

Development and bridge-financing has been provided by Headgear, Film House Germany and Merg Films. The film is the first international project to have received backing from FFF Bayern’s special program for international co-productions.

Altitude Film Sales is handling worldwide sales, with Altitude and WME jointly representing the North American rights.

Entertainment One has taken all rights to the film for the U.K., Ascot Elite for all German-speaking territories and Nordisk for Scandinavia.
