Emaline Westrick

NEW BAVARIA — Emaline Agnes Westrick, 87, of New Bavaria, died Monday evening, August 12, 2013, at Vancrest Heathcare Center of Holgate.

Her legacy… She was born November 24, 1925, to Linus and Louise (Diemer) Carroll in North Creek, Ohio. She graduated from Continental High School in 1943, and married Lawrence Westrick Sr. on September 2, 1946, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, North Creek, Ohio. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2010. Emaline was a homemaker and mom to her 13 children, and later a nurse’s aide at Holgate Quality Care and Northcrest Nursing Home. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

Her family… She is survived by her loving children, Mary Ann Wilson of Holgate, Michael Westrick of Defiance, Daniel (Sue) Westrick of Defiance, Edwin (Pat) Westrick of Holgate, Carl (Cheryl) Westrick of New Bavaria, Mark (Deb) Westrick of New Bavaria, Teresa (Roy) Medina of Holgate, Julie Mays of Berea, Ky., Joseph Westrick of Atlanta, Ga., Anthony (Lisa) Westrick of Irving, Texas, and Richard (Cheryl) Westrick, New Bavaria, daughter-in-law, Barbara Westrick, Defiance; 49 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several great-stepgrandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Lucille Kuhlman, Findlay. Emaline was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen; son, Larry Jr.; grandson, Larry Westrick III; son-in-law, Charles David Mays; sisters, Marie Mansfield and Pauline Crum; and brothers, Gordan, Gene, and Leo Carroll.

Her Farewell Service… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate, Ohio, on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 2-9 p.m., with the rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, Ohio, with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
