On 1 June 2015 the official start of registration for CHALLENGEREGENSBURG 2016 will kick-off.

The interest towards the long-distance event in Bavaria, Germany, is already enormous. Several hundred athletes have pre-registered within the past four weeks. All looking forward to 14 August 2016 when the starting signal will sound at Lake Guggenberger, the athletes will bike 180km through the beautiful landscape of district Regensburg and run a marathon in the heart of the World Heritage City of Regensburg. The finish in front of the impressive cathedral will surely be the highlight of the day.

It’s not only the high number of pre-registrations that show the huge response to the announcement of CHALLENGEREGENSBURG. The first on-course training sessions have also been a huge success. “On Whit-Monday, almost 100 athletes of all ages and levels joined to our guided tour over the bike course. This absolutely exceeded our expectations,” said race organizer Tom Tajsich.

Even more reason to look forward to the race is the first announcement of an international star. Australian Chris McCormack will be racing CHALLENGEREGENSBURG on August 14, 2016. “I’ve been to Regensburg many times and it’s an absolutely stunning place to race” said the four-time World Champion. “I can’t wait to get back there to enjoy the Bavarian hospitality and spectacular course.”

While pre-registered athletes will receive their personal link to the registration for CHALLENGEREGENSBURG via email and will have their race entry guaranteed, the official registration for the general public will start on 1 June 2015 at challenge-regensburg.com/anmeldung/
