Berlin. Chairperson of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) Boyko Borisov met with a number of MPs of the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union in Bavaria group during the congress of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany in Berlin, the press centre of the CEDB announced.
In the frames of his visit Mr Borisov met with Andreas Schockenhoff, deputy chairperson of the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union in Bavaria group in the Bundestag and with Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee Roderich Kiesewetter.
Mr Borisov informed Mr Schockenhoff and Mr Kiesewetter of the political environment in Bulgaria and of the work of the CEDB at the Bulgarian parliament. He also made the German MPs with the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union in Bavaria group acquainted with the work of CEDB mayors, who are in charge of over 90 municipalities in the country, in which over 60% of Bulgarian citizens live, who generate around 80% of national GDP. CEDB deputy chairpersons and Mayors of Sofia and Burgas Yordanka Fandakova and Dimitar Nikolov remarked they along with their colleagues in the country did their best for the transparent and efficient absorption of EU funding so that the results from the projects could be felt in the shortest amount of time by as many Bulgarian citizens as possible.
