A subsidiary of the Bucharest Export Club Association was established in Brasov on Friday, with the stated purpose of supporting the business environment in organizing itself to strengthen the relations and economic exchanges with EU states – especially those where German is spoken. 

Bucharest-Brasov-Bavaria Export Club Association vice president Cristian Macedonschi stated in a press conference that the main goal of the association is to support SMEs. 

“Small and medium businesses with Romanian capital usually ‘trip over’ language barriers, contacts, organization, and we can put at their disposal the infrastructure of the Bucharest-Brasov-Bavaria Export Club Association for meetings with companies and business contacts from Bavaria. Additionally, we will organize more often economic missions with Bavarian companies in order to establish new relations,” Macedonschi said. 

Bernd-Joachim Pantze, representative of the leadership of the Munich partner club stated that for the past 25 years “he has been dealing with Romania and Eastern Europe,” as representative of the Bavarian Ministry of Economy. 

He underlined that the volume of economic exchanges between Romania and Bavaria was valued at 4.3 billion euros in 2004. In Romania there are currently over 1,300 Bavarian companies, which are focusing in particular on the IT and car sectors. According to Pantze, the German land is represented in Romania and economic and politic delegations visit Romania on a regular basis in order to further economic interests.
