Brazil. Rio Boat Show: 5.500 miles to the fair

Each BAVARIA yacht exhibiting at the Rio Boat Show, has sailed from La Rochelle to Rio de Janeiro on its own keel. Brazilian Premiere of the VIRTESS 420 FLY.

Between the 9th to 15th April, the Rio Boat Show opens its doors at the Marina da Gloria, the BAVARIA yachts on display have had a long journey, because each of them has crossed the Atlantic from La Rochelle to Rio de Janeiro on its own keel. That means 5,500 miles per yacht. This clearly highlights their suitability for ocean-going sailing in the CRUISER yachts range, but the usual way a BAVARIA takes when it has found a new owner in Brazil is a good test of the shipyard build techniques. And this procedure has been carried out for years with over 30 transatlantic crossings organized by Paulo Cesar Pimentel Duarte and his team of Brizza Iates, Bavaria Sailing Yachts dealer in Brazil. “What a European customer might find unusual buying a yacht that has already once sailed across the Atlantic is a tangible selling point for a Brazilian customer. With a Bavaria he buys a real German quality product, with all the German engineering and German know how in traditional boatbuilding. He is proud to own a yacht, that straight out of the hangar has an Atlantic crossing under its belt” explains Paulo Cesar Pimentel Duarte, who has sold for many years BAVARIA yachts in Brazil .

For the 17th Edition Rio Boat Show, Bavaria will be displaying the BAVARIA 37, 46 and 56 CRUISER. During the crossing of the Atlantic, the crews of the three boats had to struggle especially with stormy conditions off Portugal’s coast and then the calm at the equator. But the tight schedule was met and the yachts reached the port of Rio in time.

The VIRTESS 420 FLY will also be at the Rio Boat Show at Descobreventos´ display. The Brazilian distributor for BAVARIA Motor yachts seems to have met the customer requirements of the Brazilian clientele precisely. The customers are impressed by the size of the flybridge of the VIRTESS 420 with a driver’s seat for two people. Next to it is a comfortable sun lounger, which can be optionally folded down to an additional passenger seat. Instruments, plotter and all important switching functions are ergonomically arranged at the helm of VIRTESS 420 FLY and read even in bright sunlight.
