Brauhaus Schmitz team offers special two-week tour of Bavaria

It might feel like you’re in Bavaria when enjoying a meal (or brew) at Brauhaus Schmitz, but now the team behind the restaurant wants to take you there — literally.

Brauhaus is currently offering a special two-week tour of Bavaria to take place in April 2016, when you’ll be able to join Chef Jeremy Nolan and company to explore some of the area’s best breweries, beer gardens, cheese farms and more. And, what’s more, the trip will coincide with the 500th anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot, or German Beer Purity Law.

The trip runs $3,868, double occupancy, if you’re traveling with the group in and out of Munich, and $2,618 if you’re making your own way across the Atlantic. Currently the trip is scheduled to take place from April 21, 2016 to May 3, 2016.

The tour will consist chiefly of visits to culinary destinations, as well as cultural stops and guided tours. Notable events, however, include:

    • Tour of Andechs Brewery and Monastery
    • Visit to the Weihenstephan Brewery School and dinner at Ayinger Brewery
    • Fruehlingsfest in Munich, a massive beer festival and carnival, a smaller version of Oktoberfest
    • A tour of a Cheese Farm in Kempten
    • Tours of Eagles Nest and Konigsee Lake
    • Dinner al fresco at the Andorfer Brewery Beer Garden
    • Visit to an authentic Maifest Celebration, on May 1, complete with maibaum, or maypole
