The new rumours from Bavaria says BMW is contemplating on the idea of introducing a flagship BMW 9-Series sedan.
The Bavarian company provided a hint of a more luxurious model sitting on top of the BMW 7-Series back in April 2015 when the German company unveiled the Vision Future Luxury concept at that time BMW said the new model is providing “a long-term outlook on the perception of modern luxury for the brand.” A decision to put the prototype in production model has not been taken yet, but if green-lighted, the new vehicle is going to wear the BMW 9-Series moniker and will be introduced in 2017.
The new German car model would be longer than BMW 7-Series LWB and the new car should have an overall length of around 5500 mm, while the new vehicle will fight with Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. If approved, the BMW 9-Series would comes with laser headlights OLED taillights. While the BMW concept’s interesting B pillars would be replaced with more conventional ones.
BMWBLOG report, Harald Krueger (who will take over as BMW CEO starting May 2015) is a fan of the BMW 9-Series so sooner or later there might actually be a new flagship model to be a rival with Daimler’s resurrected Maybach.
