Big fire at mattress factory in Bavaria causes damage

MUNICH, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) — A big fire at a mattress factory in the southern German state of Bavaria broke out at Friday noon, causing damage of several million euros, according to local media Bavarian Radio.

Local police was cited as saying that the reason of the fire in the municipality of Reisbach is yet unknown.

Workers from the factory had tried their best to extinguish flames. However, the fire expanded rapidly to all four production halls, according to media reports.

So far a man is reported to have suffered from slight smoke inhalation. Residents living within a radius of two km were asked to keep windows and doors closed due to possible toxic fume.
