Berlin (dpa) – Germany‘s Interior Ministry outlawed an Islamist
extremist group, Tauhid Germany, on Thursday and launched dawn raids
to seize its assets.
Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said Tauhid Germany had sprung
up to replace another organization, Millatu Ibrahim, that had been
prohibited in 2012.
Tauhid Germany was termed “militant” and “jihadist” in the statement.
Police raided premises associated with the group from 6 am (0500 GMT)
in the states of North Rhine Westphalia, Hesse, Bavaria and
Schleswig-Holstein, he said.
