Bogan’s Bar is bringing a flavour of Bavaria to Omagh for the entire month of October – or should that be ‘Oktober’.
Yes, the famous German festival in celebration of hops and beer is coming to a local bar near you.
Proprietor Andy Bogan has sourced a dozen or so German-made beers especially for the bar’s Oktober Fest celebrations to go alongside the wide range of locally brewed lagers, ales, stouts and ciders.
These include weiss, blonde and pilsner beers so there is something for all tastes.
Properly getting into the spirit of things, there will even be a German inspired food menu on offer as well, made up primarily of wurst (sausages).
“This event is something I have wanted to do for a while, particularly given the enthusiasm and boom in local craft beer making in recent years.
“We are always looking to do something different,” said Andy Bogan.
He added, “We stock all the locally brewed beers in Tyrone such as Poker Tree and Red Hand Ale as well as others from Armagh, Antrim, Scotland and America.
“But there is certainly a willingness from customers to try something new and different so it was the perfect opportunity to order in all these new German beers and host Bogan’s first ever Oktober Fest.”
Each week there will be special promotions on the range of specially sourced new Bavarian beers.
“We are really getting into the spirit of Oktober Fest and we have a lot more planned for throughout the entire month. So pop into the bar and sample some of the wide range of new beers we have on offer,” said Andy.
