While the wins over City and CSKA were secured by single goals, the seven goal drubbing of Roma made the European football world sit up and once again take notice.
The 2013 champions were dismissed at the tail end of last season after failing to retain their crown however their unbeaten start to the season has made people take them seriously once again.
The Bavarian giants are currently five points clear at the top of the group but despite their cushion at the top, Bayern defender David Alaba says his side will not take their eye off the prize.
“Roma is a strong team and they will come here to take points and have players who can decide a game single-handedly,” said Austria international Alaba.
“
But we are still very hungry and ambitious.”
The record breaking seven goals scored away to Roma last time out has raised expectations of another rout at the Allianz Arsena however Spanish star Juan Bernat warned fans not to expect a repeat of the huge scoreline.
“It will be a completely different game to the away fixture,” said Bernat.
“The first leg was perfect for us, it was a crazy game, but now things start again at zero.
“It will be difficult and very competitive.”
Bayern will be without Pepe Reina (calf) and Tom Starke (foot) for the game while Roma will be without Maicon (knee), Leandro Castan (thigh) and Davide Astori (thigh) with Kevin Strootman (knee) and Marco Borriello (thigh) doubts.
