Milan were leading 4-0 after the first leg at the San Siro but Arsenal rallied
at home, winning 3-0 and only narrowly missing out on completing a dramatic
fightback.
“They could have won 4-0, they had the chances, so it shows they are a strong
team and capable of making up the gap if they have to,” said Heynckes. “I
respect Arsène Wenger very much. He is a top manager and Arsenal are a
fighting team.
“They will do everything to get a result here, so we must be on our guard.”
Despite those at Bayern downplaying their chances, anything other than
progress for the German league leaders would be a huge surprise.
England’s World Cup winner Sir Bobby Charlton has tipped Bayern to go on and
win this season’s Champions
League.
“If I had to say one team, I would pick Bayern Munich to win the
Champions League,” Charlton said in an interview with German broadcaster
Sport 1.
Charlton also believes that Bayern’s Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund are
contenders to reach the Wembley final on May 25.
“Borussia Dortmund is a unique football club with unbelievable fans. They
belong among the favourites.”
