Bayern Munich reportedly keen on Manchester City’s Patrick Vieira for coaching …

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on taking Manchester City coach Patrick Vieira to Germany.

The Frenchman is currently in charge of City’s ‘Elite Development Squad’ and has been mooted as a potential successor to current City boss Manuel Pellegrini.

He has also played a key role in the development of the club’s £200-million City Football Academy.

But according to Bild, German champions Bayern want to pluck the former Arsenal captain from his current role and taking him to Bavaria at the end of the current campaign.

Vieira, 38, is said to be wanted to take charge of Bayern Munich II, the club’s mainly under-23 side.

Dutchman Erik ten Hag is the current incumbent having only arrived last summer from Eredivisie club Go Ahead Eagles.

But ten Hag is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, with the Dutch FA said to be keen on bringing him into the national set up.

Vieira has taken City’s EDS side to the quarter-finals in the UEFA Youth Champions League in each of the last two years, while Bayern have lost out in the group stage on both occasions.

The World Cup winner visited the Bavarian club back in February, where he spent time with current Bayern boss Pep Guardiola.
