Bavarian medtech firms scout for partners

The visiting companies were all from Bavaria, Germany’s medical technology region.

“Finally the positive news about the Philippines has reached Germany and has also reached the interest of the Ministry of Economics in Bavaria. And they have opportunities wherein they can support their companies to go into new export markets,” Nadine Fund, general manager of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., said in an interview on the sidelines of a conference arranged for the visiting delegation.

“We would do a mix and match. What are the strengths of the Bavarian companies? How they would fit here? Health care and medical technology is one of the sectors where we said this is a very good fit and we want them to come over,” she added.

The seven visiting Bavarian companies are EDV-Agentur, Funeralia GmbH, medi GmbH Co. KG, Medin — Medical Innovations GmbH, MIPM Mammendorfer Institut f¸r Physik und Medizin GmbH, MMM M¸nchner Medizin Mechanik GmbH, and Shams X-Ray and Medical Equipment.

They manufacture stainless steel medical furniture, medical aids, MRI compatible devices, X-ray technology and also provide electronic data processing. — Bjorn Biel M. Beltran
