German yacht builder Bavaria Yachtbau opened a U.S. office in Fort Lauderdale.
It is the second direct representation from the company and it follows Bavaria’s recent opening of an office in Shanghai.
Under the name Bavaria Yachts America, the Florida office will serve the U.S. market, Canada and South America. The operation will be run by Bavaria sales director Vincent Guiot.
The first test of the new U.S. office was the Oct. 30-Nov. 3 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where the company displayed the Bavaria Virtues 420 Fly and the Virtues 420 Coupe. The first orders were closed after the show.
“The Fort Lauderdale [International] Boat Show was a great success for the Bavaria brand,” Guiot said in a statement. “With the new office in the U.S., Bavaria now confirms that it will be a contender in this part of the world.”
The company plans to expand its dealer network and participate in boat shows in Miami and West Palm Beach; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Cartagena, Colombia.
